Our programs work to improve the health and well-being of women of reproductive age, infants, and adolescents. See below for details on our programs.
Our Mission: Promoting fair and equitable opportunities for the health and well-being of all people living in Utah through preconception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, infancy, childhood, and adolescence.
Our Vision: Healthy women, pregnancies, children, adolescents, families, and communities in Utah.
Our goals include:
- Support healthy pregnancies and improve birth outcomes
- Reduce preventable maternal deaths
- Reduce preventable infant and fetal deaths
- Support breastfeeding
- Provide nutrition and breastfeeding services through the Utah Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) program
- Reduce teen pregnancy
- Increase rates of screening for mental health conditions and referrals for mental health treatment and support during and after pregnancy
- Improve the health outcomes for Utah women and babies using evidence based practice guidelines and quality improvement processes
- Provide data analysis for informed decision making
- Provide educational information and resources

Office of Maternal and Child Health programs:
The Office of Maternal and Child Health does not provide clinical services to patients and is unable to diagnose your illness, provide treatment, prescribe medication, or refer you to specialists. If you need medical treatment, contact your healthcare provider.
